Practicing self-love seems to be an easy thing especially during this era when many people believe in self-care. But self-love is more than buying yourself a new shirt, going for bubbling baths or indulging in ice cream. It is important to note that self-love generally entails so many things that many of us would not like to do. In case you really want to love yourself, you need to be responsible both in your actions and thoughts. An individual should also be kind and understanding. The second way you can practice self-love is by treating yourself the same way you treat friend. Consider how you respond when you hear a companion talk severely about themselves, question their own capacities, or even flounder in self-indulgence. If a friend come to you with such feelings you usually so quick to remind them of the past achievements, and encourage them that tomorrow will be better than today. Since you can’t allow a friend to think negatively about themselves, doubt their abilities or have negative mentality don’t do it to yourself. This now is what we call self-love.
The third thing you need to do to practice self-love is to find your happy place. It may sound odd but self-love is not something you do on your own. In some cases a person can identify a group of people, a place or even an event that enables them to appreciate themselves and get better understanding of their needs. May be spending sometime in a dark place makes you radiate with joy. In some cases, a person can prefer to spend time with a faith-based community for them to remember how to believe in their abilities. There are some people who need to sped sometime with good books for them to learn self-love.
